(CelebrityAccess) — After a career that spanned five decades George Clinton is preparing to hang up his spurs, but before he does, he’s taking one more spin through North America.
Clinton revealed the dates for his final run – the One Nation Under a Groove Tour. The tour kicks officially after memorial day weekend when Clinton performs at the Miller High Life Theatre in Milwaukee and concludes on August 18th at the Brooklyn Bowl in Las Vegas.
“I would love to keep on doing this but I’ll be 78 in a few more months,” Clinton told Rolling Stone. “Even though I feel like I’m just getting started, the reality is the group needs to go ahead and keep it going. We’ve got a new vibe in the band, and they’ve been carrying it for the last three years. I’ve been up there representing for people, but they’ve actually been turning the place out. And we’ve been selling out for the last five years, every night.”
Supporting Funkadelic on various dates through the tour are a litany of some of the top names in funk music, including Dumpstaphunk, Fishbone, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Miss Velvet and the Blue Wolf.
