LilyPichu (real name: Lily Ki) is an American YouTube personality and former Twitch streamer.
She is most noted for her streaming work, but has also branched out into voice acting for video games and animes.
LilyPichu was born in Queens, New York City, NYC on November 20th, 1991.
There is little publicly-available information regarding her early life, but it is believed that she is of Korean descent.
Her parents purportedly discovered her musical talent at an early age, and had her participate in piano lessons.
LilyPichu has a brother named Daniel, but his age and occupation are unknown.
Beyond this, nothing is known about her family. Similarly, little is known about her education, though she has stated that she attended (but did not graduate from) community college.
LilyPichu got her start on YouTube in 2006, where she posted videos on a number of various topics.
These included video gaming sessions, vlogs, songs, and piano covers.
It did not take long for her to garner a considerable following, and she quickly amassed more than a million subscribers.
LilyPichu later shifted her focus to the online streaming platform Twitch.
It was on here that she gained wider popularity with her streams that focused on her playing League of Legends (often abbreviated to ‘LoL’) and various other games.
It was during this period that LilyPichu attained viral fame with the catchy cult song “I’ll quit LoL.”
The song had a simple animation of a hooded figure playing the song with their back to the viewer, and was a humorous threat to quit the popular online game.
LilyPichu later became a member of the online collective of social media content creators, Offline TV.
The highly successful group includes streamer Pokimane, and the collective is extremely popular and produces a wealth of online content.
At the height of her fame on Twitch, LilyPichu was one of the most-watched female streamers on the platform.
In 2022, she was nominated for two ‘Streamer Awards’ awards – best League of Legends Streamer, and Best Music Streamer.
LilyPichu won the latter, cementing her reputation as one of the most popular female streamers on the platform.
LilyPichu parted ways from Twitch in July 2022, when she signed an exclusive deal with YouTube.
In doing so, she joined scores of other streamers who had migrated away from the popular streaming site in favor of the more lucrative deal offered by the video-hosting giant.
Ki used to date Canadian professional gamer HotshotGG (real name – George Georgallidis). He also founded the eSports organization ”Counter Logic Gaming.”
Later, Ki started to date Albert “SleightlyMusical” Chang, a YouTuber and Twitch streamer who performed live at the 2017 LoL World Championship opening ceremony of the finals.
The two broke up in November 2019 after Albert cheated on Lily.
Chang twitted on November 12, 2019:
”I made the worst decision of my life. I chose to be unfaithful to Lily, and caused her an excruciating amount of pain.”
Albert Chang went on to say:
”I betrayed her trust and love for me, and for that, I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to atone for it.”
On November 10, 2019, Ki stated:
”Albert and I aren’t together anymore… I am already heartbroken.”
Lily also wrote:
”I still love and care about my friends and Albie very much.”
In a later interview, the Twitch celebrity confessed: ”If there’s one thing I could change about the breakup, it would be trying to make it more private and break up nicely.”
In 2020, LilyPichu confirmed that she was dating another member of the OfflineTV collective – a streamer named Michael Reeves.
In June 2020, LilyPichu came forward along with fellow OfflineTV collaborator, Yvonne Ng, to accuse another member of the collective of sexual harassment. The streamer in question, Federico Gaytan, was removed from the group.
