Minecraft mobs can be classified into a variety of categories based on a variety of factors. But the most commonly categorisation is their behaviour towards the players. They are divided into hostile, neutral and passive. Hostile mobs are the dangerous ones which attacks the players on sight.

Here is all about the Minecraft Zoglins and their behaviour, drops and locations.

Minecraft Zoglins

Zoglins are a variant of the Hoglin and are the undead version of the mob, which transforms into this state when in the Overworld or the End.

Location and Spawns

Zoglins are not spawned naturally and only appear when a Hoglin is present in the Overworld or the End dimension for more than 15 seconds.

When they transform, they get the Nausea effect. Therefore, to obtain a Zoglin, players need to bring a Hoglin to these dimensions.

Behaviour

The Minecraft Zoglins are undead creatures and are very hostile toward the players. Upon seeing them, they will charge towards them and do a Charge attack. This will throw the target in the air for a few seconds.

The Zoglins are hostile towards every mob in the game except Creepers, Ghasts and other Zoglins. They will also attack armor stands as they are treated as an entity. They will also attack Hoglins. The Neutral mobs will retaliate when being hit by a Zoglin.

Players cannot breed these mobs and they are effected by status effects that harm undead mobs like Instant health potions and Smite enchantment.

Drops

When killed the Zoglin drops the following:

  • Rotten Flesh
  • 5 EXP orbs in Java Edition
  • 1-3 EXP orbs in Bedrock Edition
