Players are unhappy with Modern Warfare 3’s annoying “Collision” mechanic in the beta test phase.
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 is the direct sequel to MW2. It will continue the campaign storyline and feature a new, revamped multiplayer game mode. The revamped multiplayer features many new in-game mechanics.
Out of the new in-game mechanics, players have not been fond of the new “collision” mechanic, which seems to be a step up over MW2’s existing mechanic. Frustrated players took to Reddit to express annoyance with this mechanic in-game.

During the beta test phase, Reddit user Senodus posted a thread with a video of the collision mechanic. The poster demanded that Sledgehammer Games disable the teammate collision feature, as getting pushed around has become an issue.
Other users were quick to agree with the original poster. Reddit user SaucyDancer_ stated their amusement regarding the fact that no one was pointing out the collision mechanic’s awful state.
Another user went on to state how ridiculous it was to add a mechanic like this in an arcade game like Call of Duty. Moreover, they also pointed out the fact that it is still there in Modern Warfare 3 in 2023.
While most players might not think this is a big issue, it annoys players in smaller maps or POIs. The collision mechanic becomes a huge pain in Shipment and Rust as the maps are small and players are always on the move.
In Modern Warfare 2, the collision mechanic is very annoying for players in Shipment, which is the most-played map in the game and will most likely be present in Modern Warfare 3. So, the collision mechanic will make players face difficulty grinding once the game is released. Hopefully, Sledgehammer Games will consider taking this feature out of the game, as they have been making many positive changes.
