In a revealing interview with The Guardian, Scherzinger opened up about her struggles with bulimia, and revealed that it was damaging her vocal cords. She said that that was the turning point for her to get help with her problems. "We all have a choice," Scherzinger says. "We can choose to beat ourselves up or go back to those old patterns, or we can choose to learn and grow and evolve and be like: 'I'm going to have to rewire my brain'."

In her Guardian interview, Scherzinger also talked about online harassment that singers face. She says that she has dealt with a lot of haters, and her solution is just to ignore them and move forwards. "It's not going to be a walk in the park. Anything that's worth having is going to take work. And it comes with it, unfortunately – we all deal with it. Yeah. I just don't go on the friggin' internet!"

Scherzinger spoke at the 2019 #MyYoungerSelf event for mental health awareness. She talked about what she would tell her younger self, and what mindset she uses when she's gone through rough times."You are precious and you have purpose. You're going to go through a lot of pain and struggles in life but there is purpose. You're going to go through a lot of pain and struggles in life but there is purpose in that pain and there's a bigger plan. And when you go through those struggles and challenges it's going to be preparing you and protecting you. And even though you feel like you don't fit in it's because you're not meant to fit in, you're meant to stand out. Just hold on, don't give up. Don't let anyone else, not even yourself, get in the way of who you are and who you were created to be."

Scherzinger broke down her favorite exercises and her fitness routine in an interview with Women's Health. She said that she likes to do a little bit of everything when she works out. "In a typical workout I would run on the treadmill for maybe 20 mins, then try to do some squats, some sit-ups on the exercise ball, some yoga stretches."

During the COVID-19 pandemic and lockdowns, Schcerzinger and her trainer, Paulo Mascitti did the singer's at-home workout in a video for SHAPE. Scherzinger likes to do a full-body workout, which lasts 10 minutes and contains 7 different exercises. Scherzinger and Mascitti do squats to overhead presses, squat jumps in different directions, lunges, and plank push-ups.
