%PLAYERNAME%! It is fortunate you are here. Alarming events have transpired.
As I was observing a slow, pink Pokémon, its tail suddenly fell off. I stooped down to pick up the tail, only to discover that the field was covered in more of these detached appendages
The Pokémon in question did not seem perturbed. However, I am. Could a disease be ailing the Pokémon? Are the fallen extremities separate life-forms?
Please assist me in assessing the situation, %PLAYERNAME%.
Hey, %PLAYERNAME%! I saw you and Rhi running around earlier. What’ve you been up to?
There were Pokémon with their tails falling off? That does sound concerning, but I’ve got a hunch there’s nothing to worry about. Let me have a look!
Hmm… Yep! You’ll both be relieved to know these are just Slowpoke tails. Their tails fall off naturally. The Slowpoke don’t feel any pain when it happens, and their tails grow back, so they aren’t particularly bothered.
Speaking of their tails, did you know that because Galarian Slowpoke eat the seeds of a plant that grows only in Galar, their tails have developed a spicy flavor?
So I hear, at least—I’ve never tasted one myself. Ooh, maybe we should have a picnic sometime!
Ahem. Lunch plans aside, I’ll let Rhi know that there’s no cause for concern. Spend more time with the Slowpoke till I’m back, %PLAYERNAME%!
Welcome back, %PLAYERNAME%. Whoa! Not only have you spent more time with Slowpoke, but you’ve helped some evolve, too!
Slowpoke’s pretty special. Not only can it evolve into one of two different Pokémon—Slowbro and Slowking—but each of its Evolutions has regional variants, too.
Slowpoke become Water- and Psychic-type Slowbro when Shellder latch on to their tails. Though usually dim-witted, they seem to become inspired if those Shellder bite down.
Galarian Slowbro, unlike their non-Galarian counterparts, are Poison types.
When a Shellder bites one of them, it sets off a chemical reaction with the spices inside Slowbro’s body, causing Slowbro to become a Poison-type Pokémon. Pretty wild, huh?
Evolve a couple more Slowpoke, and I’ll have some fun facts about Slowking to share when you’re back!
Back so soon, %PLAYERNAME%? You’re faster than a Slowpoke, that’s for sure! Now for those Slowking facts I promised you.
Slowking undertake research every day in an effort to solve the mysteries of the world. They have incredible intellect and intuition. Whatever the situation, they remain calm and collected.
Galarian Slowking, on the other hand, have something of a spooky bent. While chanting strange spells, these Pokémon combine their internal toxins with what they’ve eaten, creating strange potions.
What do you think would happen if I drank one of those potions? Maybe I’d turn into a Slowking myself. Who knows what I could accomplish with their level of intellect!
Ah… You’re right, it might be hard for me to communicate like that. Either way, there’s no end to the discoveries we can make about Pokémon together—even if my noggin remains Shellder-free! Haha.
The curiosity of friends like you and Rhi will take us far. I hope you two learned something today. Until next time, %PLAYERNAME%!
