Treasure Valley Youth Baseball team heads to regionals, world series hopefuls

A youth baseball team from Meridian has big dreams. They are headed to a regional tournament and hope to make it to the Cal Ripken World Series.

The Meridian Youth Baseball Select's 12-U team has qualified for regionals in Longview, Washington. Teams will compete from Idaho, Washington, Oregon, Montana and Canada.

The team finished the season as runner-up at the state finals after playing Twin Falls which is already going to the World Series.

"The team is here working and growing each day in practice and in each game," says coach Kevin McKillip. "Any help is fantastic. The boys are having the time of their life. It's something they can look back on and just be like, 'Wow I did that.' It's pretty cool for each individual player."

A GOFUNDME has been set up to help fund the team's trip to regionals and their possible trip to the world series.
