(Video) Simone Biles and Jordan Chiles savor MLB moment after first pitch in Astros vs. Royals game
Simone Biles threw out the first pitch before the Houston Astros vs. Kansas City Royals game on Friday. However, she was not the only one present at Minute Maid Park; Jordan Chiles was seen cheering for her BFF as she threw out the pitch, and even Jonathan Owens was seen capturing the moment on the diamond.
The moment ended with Biles putting her arms above her head in a saluting pose which she usually does after landing her signature moves. The USA Gymnastics took to Instagram commenting, “the salute is EVERYTHING! 🤩”
This was not the first time Simone Biles has thrown out a pitch, she also took the field back in 2016 and 2019. However, this time there was no gymnastics move other than a straightforward throw which was caught by Astros first baseman Jon Singleton.
Usually whoever throws the first pitch and one who catches the ball signs and returns it as a gesture, but it was different with the 7x Olympic gold medalist. Singleton handed the ball back to Biles to get it signed from the Olympian instead.
She was seen sporting a navy blue Houston Astros jersey with the No.27 stitched on the back, and white boots. It was her first diamond appearance since the 2024 Paris Games, and it was Jordan Chiles‘ first appearance in the media since the bronze medal controversy.

The 2024 Olympic gold medalist Simone Biles has been seen spending most of her time with her husband Jonathan Owens. Even in the latest Astros vs. Royals game, the duo was seen sharing cozy moments, clicking pictures, and sharing a smile.
Owens will be back with the Chicago Bears as they are scheduled to face Houston Texans on September 15 at NRG Stadium. The couple was seen sharing romantic moments from their Instagram stories and Biles attended several games to support Owens over the break.
As for Chiles, it was her first media appearance other than appearing at a press conference over the bronze medal controversy. The results and the aftermath of the floor finals in the 2024 Paris Games shook the whole sport.
